can any one tell when was it manufactured? what is difference in sauer and sohn vs and suhl shotguns. some german shotguns are simson and suhl? donot understand...
is it worth buying at $1500?

If it's marked West Germany, it was made post WW2 of course, probably in the 1950s. The year could be determined if you show us the proof marks.
Sauer & Sohn is the maker, Suhl is the city where the maker was situated (before moving to West Germany post WW2). Simson was another maker from Suhl.
It's a good solid gun but not worth buying at $1500 (IMO).

Whether it's worth $1500 would depend on gauge and grade. If it has ejectors, it may be marked "Royal", which was the higher grade of the West German imports. I'd say probably worth $1500 if in 20 or 16ga; closer call if it's a 12ga.

its 12 gauge ., by the way what will be its weight or of similar ones roughly as i can not figure out it from web.

Condition is also a strong factor in determining current value. If the original receiver finish was color case hardened, and now shows plain steel, the value goes down. Also we don't know if the bores are pristine, etc.

From the 4end iron I would say it was an ejector gun.
