Gentlemen,

I recently purchased a .300 WM SxS double rifle marketed by Flaig's back in the 1970s.
My gun was proofed in 1970 and built by Ludwig Borovnik of Ferlach, Austria.
Barrels are approx. 24 ". Does anyone have any idea what bullet weight was used to regulate these rifles...150 gr or 180 gr or ???

Any information about the rifle is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Joe V.

Can you post pictures of the proof marks
Often the load for the double rifles is listed
in these marks

BUT If I were a betting man, I would say the bullet
weight of choice for this caliber is 180 grain spitzer.

Mike

P.S. Fun reading

It'd be just as easy to call or write the maker and see if they have the records on file.

No I have not shot it yet but I hope to soon...

I obtained this rifle and a Heym 88B in .375 H&H at a local estate sale.

I am curious as to the accuracy of the Borovnik .300 WM...?

I hope to get out soon and test fire this rifle.
I am sure it will be very accurate.

Anybody have any extra .300 Win Mag ammo they want to sell ...?

Thanks,
Joe V.

Don't expect top grouping with American ammo. I believe that Euro ammo is loaded lighter. But I may be wrong.
I shot some Federal in my Winkler and IMO it's too warm. Handloads are better.
