OP Ithaca16 Sidelock Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 299 Ohio	Did Parker Bros. use two types of stock finish? A shellac base finish on most guns and also a oil base finish on special order? Thanks for help on this, I am not a Parker collector but have two. Last edited by Ithaca16; 01/04/14 12:59 PM.

Smiths they used a special blend of oil and other ingredients and used as many coats as it took to bring the finish out. I have never heard of a Monogram having a shellac finish. David
