Any idea how to tell what the chamber length is on a Merkel 201 in 12 gauge?

I cannot find any markings that say 65 or 70 anywhere.

Hold the barrel up toward a light source. Note the forcing cone shadow. Slide a 6-inch rule (one inch end first) into the chamber until you see it "contact" the forcing cone shadow. Note rule reading at end of breech. That is the chamber length.

Another trick: In a clean chamber, insert a rolled up 3X5 card. Let it expand and advance slowly. You'll feel the resistance when it hits the forcing cone. Mark on the card and measure and repeat a time or two. Works surprisingly well.
