I have a VH grade 16ga made in 1902. It has the half pistol grip, or ball grip as some call it. Most I have seen have the pistol grip with cap on it. Is the ball grip a little on the rare side? Any help here from the Parker collectors , I am not a Parker collector. Thanks

To the folks who are really into this stuff, there is a difference between the Parker Bros. "ball grip" and their half-pistol grip. The "ball grip" was mostly on hammer guns while the grip as done on the hammerless doubles was the half-pistol grip. The half-pistol grip would be considered somewhat scarce on a 16-gauge VH-Grade.

Sounds interesting. I have seen a lot of Parkers but never a V-grade that has a ball-style grip. Can you post some photos?

Thanks,

A pistol grip without a cap, or half grip, or whatever you want to call it on a hammerless Parker is a less frequently seen configuration.

A capped pistol grip was the most common grip style. I would wager that, on hammerless guns, the uncapped pistol grip is less common than straight grips.
