Does any of you have a new gun on order with Watson Bros Gunmakers, of London? If so, what is your estimated time from initial order (and payment of initial deposit) to delivery? Thanks.

Wish I did. I've seen Micheal Louca's guns at the CLA game fair. They're fantastic. Have had correspondence with him a number of times and always found him responsive. I'm confident he'd give you an honest answer on time.

Too bad the Scots didn't vote for independence. The pound might have crashed and there could have been some good deals on English guns!!!

I shoot occasionally with both Doug and Daryl. You guys should get together and discuss English guns. Bill Murphy

DGM I think that if they had let the English people vote on the issue then Scotland would have got its independence. I don't think the pound would have gone down as a result though. Lots of institutions north of the border were planning to move south to England in the event of a Yes vote.

I've not checked Watson's website but does that give any indications on completion time? Lagopus.....

Gee lagopus, I'm surprised at your comment. If the English voted for independence wouldn't they have to separate themselves from Wales and N. Ireland too? Would they really want to do that? No, that can't be right. They've been fighting forever to hold on to N. Ireland, they must want it very badly.
It's such fun trying to get a rise out of an Englishman.

Getting a rise out of an Englishman? But we are known for our laconic self deprecation!

Whilst I believe the majority of English folk wished to maintain the Union, there is a move now being discussed in Parliament for English MPs to vote on English matters and Scots MPs to vote on Scottish matters and narry the two to meet. They would continue to vote on party lines with regard to other matters of general concern.

I believe Lagopus had his tongue in his cheek when he implied the English would be happy to see the back of the Scots - we love 'em really!

Any way, last time I heard about Watson waiting/ordering times was two years, but that was several years back.

Hey you guys, enough with the discussion of the Scottish independence vote! Get back on task with my question (please)!

I just got off the Watson Brothers website. It turns out they have four bore hammer and hammerless guns in production and are planning on eight bores in the future. Maybe if I sold a few eights, I could afford a Watson Brothers four. Fortunately for me, it seems like thay have a four or a couple, ready for delivery.

Douglas, my apologies for wandering off topic. However, I did answer your question directly in my last sentence and hope that was of some help to you.
