I just took possesion of a nice little BSS 20g 28" today...for the second time. I had sold the gun to a friend a couple years ago. He took it to the range exactly twice, both times with me. Funny how after I sold it, I wanted it back.
Over the years, I've bought back 2 others. 3's my total.

Never did. Couple were offered, since I sometimes use the old 'if you ever want to sell it, give me first option' ploy. Actually not a ploy... I've found third owners for two of my sold guns, when the fellow I sold them to wanted to sell...
Have had offers to buy back guns that were sold to me, or traded in a moment of folly or lust. A 1984 Herstal Hi-Power comes to mind...

The only gun I ever bought back is my Lefever H, that I use for BP cartridge skeet matches. I sold it to my main shooting buddy, trying to class him up. His eyes were just starting to move back into the oo position. A lifetime of shooting O/Us had moved them into an 8 position. He wasn't shooting it much and I found myself without a Damascus gun for skeet matches. I still have it. His eyes have gone back to a perfect 8 again.

I bought back the JC Higgins 12ga bolt action that I bought at a second hand store for $2.50 when I was 10. I sold it to a neighbor boy in 1968 for $10.00. I bought from a friend in 1998 for $25.00. His father had bought it from the neighbor boy in the late 70's. I can still shoot it about as well as any gun I own. I would hate to think how many shells it has fired. I know I loaded hundreds of paper shells with a LEE Handloader to shoot in it. This was back when the local Hardware store would sell you (Kids)powder by the ounce and shot by the pound. I wish it was still that way.

One, an Antonio Zoli 20 gauge I traded as partial payment to Griffin & Howe for a Belgian .405 double rifle. It sat forlornly on their rack for over a year, looking accusingly at me every time I walked into the Bernardsville store. I finally couldn't take the guilt any longer and bought it back for about 60% of the asking price.
I've still got it and, not counting the brief interregnum, have owned it almost 30 years.

I have two I got back, one a 1938 K98K Mauser I sold the action only. I had gotten it along with a lot of parts I picked up from an older gentleman. I traded for it back & then discovered I had most of the original parts to complete it with all matching numbers. sure was proud it came back. The other a J P Clabrough 12ga 28" Damascus. Hunted with it a few years with low pressure reloads & could shoot that gun I believe better than any other I ever went afield with. In a weak moment I sold it to a "Relative". A few yrs ago it came back as a Birthday gift, will not leave again.
