Solid "behind the kitchen door" guns, as one of our former posters from the 'show me' state used to say. I don't recall that he ate much crow w/his postings, but he always claimed that he did ;-) and he was seldom not taken to task for one reason or another. It was 'Glenthorne' something or another as I recall.
Funnier dialogue in them days; now, not so much. I find that sadly disconcerting ... in some ethereal sense.
Wonder what happened to old Thorny? He was seriously considering joining the Minute Man movement, to patrol the southern border. Wonder if he ever did that?
Almost forgot, I owned a 12 gauge Western Arms with a single trigger, in one of the older Double Gun Journals there is a piece with production numbers by years for those guns. Mine was purchased in 1932, somebody had the extra scratch for a single trigger, but, they produced very few guns that year, as I recall. I got a few birds with it. I also got caught with that gun in a lightning storm in Steele County, MN, that caused me to lean it against a tree and take cover perhaps 50 yards further off. No harm to either of us.
I got rid of mine BECAUSE it had a single trigger! I get a laugh out of somebody worrying about the frame material, from what I've seen, they hold up as well as the same vintage model 21 does!
Best,
Ted
