Quote from S&W in referenced article, "brand that everybody knows and everybody likes."
Well, not everyone, after what S&W has done to thier revolvers!-Dick

Yeah no fooling, the brand doesn't exactly ring "quality".

Very true,
the new stuff does nothing for me either.
I have never had a big interest in S&W's for the collection.I do have a 36 for carry and have been bidding without sucess on a couple registered 357's and pre 29's.
But you have to give them, the change in mangement, credit for trying and so far succeeding in taking market share in the semi auto handgun market. The big question is can they be as sucessfull in long guns.As they say buy what you know,if you think they can you can very easily make enough to buy a shotgun more inline with what most posters here collect while they are selling a less desirable, for most of us,entry level one to the masses.

"Make my Day" might have another connection to S&W for some investors

They have made great strides in overcoming the damage done by signing onto the Clinton deal.

In my opinion, I don't think that they will ever dominate the law enforcement market again like they did in the past. Most agencies today are crazy over Glocks and Sig/Sauer, as they should be. I have heard that the tactical rifle is selling well.

I just can't get over that stupid lock device they placed on the frame of their revolvers. Just me.

Kind regards,
