Congratulations on your purchase. There was a nice one last week on GunBroker; did you end up with it? i was following that auction. Someone with the book will answer your question about how many were made, but there were lots of them...Geo

Hi Geo, No it was not the one on GB.i always wanted one and kicked myself for not getting a vhe when I had the chance. A friend needed to pay some bills so I ended up with it following me home.I thought they made way more 12's than 20's. It has 30 inch unmolested barrels choked .580 and .585. I can't wait to shoot it. Was just curios of the 78460, how many ended up being 20 gauge. Thanks

A 20 ga with 30" barrels is pretty scarce, but yours might be even more special. Since you are in Alta Loma, yours might be one of the run of 20s for a club up by Visalia. Club name escapes me at the moment, but the PGCA site will have someone who remembers, or Murphy will be along to remind us. I think that bunch of guns was sold through a shop in San Francisco. Probably worth getting a PGCA letter on this one.

If you're a PGCA member then the letter is $40; otherwise it's $100.

From the tables in The Parker Story there were 78659 VH-/VHE-Grades made. There were 10406 made in 20-gauge and 943 of those had 30-inch barrels. Nice find.

Awolf, Good morning. Sound spectacular. My VH 20 has 28" and its a dream. I can only imagine 30's! Are you going to tease us with a pic or 3?

Good luck with your PGCA letter. Let us know what it says. Anything after 1919 is unlikely to contain information on original purchaser.
