How many attend? How many like the price of targets at the event? How many do not attend because of the price of targets? I shoot Registered trap. I understand why targets cost more at a registered event. I have run my own business for 34 years. So don't tell me the cost of being in business. I attend 3 to 5 events a year and their all the same. Forty to fifty dollars for fifty targets. Sorry but I do not think it's right. Rant started. By the way I will be in Medford this week paying to much again. Medford and Deluth both wonderful shoots you guys out east should try them.

Bill,
We just had our 3rd Annual SxS shoot at the Grand Blanc Huntsman's Club this past weekend. The price was $50 for 50 SC, 25 5-stand, 25 skeet targets with a chicken breast, macaroni salad, roll, cookie and beverage lunch. I think that was a pretty fair price. Oh, we also raffled a flat of RST shells (donated by RST) for pre-registrants who shot with a nice clear acrylic trophy and $100 prize for HOA.

I wish I could find a sxs shoot in WA, ID or OR. You should attend the Nimrod near Bozeman, MT. Was this past weekend. Great course. Fun time. Oh yeah...$155 for 260 clays.

I was going to attend the Vintage Cup several years ago, but when I added up what my fees were I backed out. I think some of these SxS shoots are highly profitable for the organizations throwing them. I used to shoot a lot of registered FITASC which is the most expensive registered shooting you can do. Lots of machines, lots of area required and it takes a long time to shoot. It's around a dollar a target. SxS shoots are several dollars a target for regular sporting clays, often league targets. I'm going to Medford because that's where the SxS are. But, you could win a gun! Yes, the 7 people who win a gun get a great deal. The other 120 of us don't. Option B is not getting to hang out with SxS people. You should come to the 16 gauge shoot we have in Minnesota. This year it was $50 for 125 targets, lunch and door prizes. We do this with the club breaking even to give everyone a break, promote our club and to have fun! We get some new members from it and others come to shoot there more often, so the club wins in the long run. I try not to think about the cost of these SxS shoots and just have fun. This year I'm more concerned about what I may spend with the vendors!Regards,
 Jeff

I just wish I had the spare time to attend the different SxS shoots.
Maybe then I could complain about the cost..........:)

Ruffed Grouse society fun shoot, last night, at Metro Gun Club, Blaine, MN. $25 for a round of skeet, and picnic style dinner. Additional rounds were $10 each. I shot two, and had a nice time. The only "shoot" I regularly go to. Great people, good cause.

 Best,
 Ted

Normally there's more help and machines at a big shoot. Ones like Phil's or mine [ at Lapeer, Mi ] are a lot more reasonable. Mine has 50 Sc's and a catered steak dinner with a custom made knife given away along with 5 or 6 awards for $50. I also offer side games of skeet, trap, wobble trap, 5-stand, pigeon ring, duck towers, and long bird for $5. Any additional Sc's are $10/50 birds. I'm having a smaller shoot Aug 8th - no steak or awards, pay as you shoot. I believe those are very good prices, and I can be contacted at bladesmith46@hotmail.com Come out and have some fun.

July 11 will be the day of the Woods and Meadows SxS shoot near Warrens, WI. It's the 15th annual and it will include 100 sporting clays targets and lunch. When we started the shoot it was $35, but it has crept up to $50 (I think). W&M basically runs the shoot now and they do a fine job!. Nothing fancy, but it's a very nice environment and usually well attended for a small shoot. There are always a few tables with sxs's for sale.http://www.woodsandmeadow.com/calendar-of-events/
