in San Francisco yesterday. It was a Diamond Pigeon Beretta. They are looking for the owner. I sure hope they do not destroy it.

So, did they think he was going to use the gun to commit a serious offence?

Diamond Pigeon! The only one I know with that designation is the S687EELL Diamond Pigeon at 6,125 here in England. I think they are mixing the price with the SO 10 model. Maybe they send different models to the U.S. Lagopus.....

It was a news item this morning. He was trying to assemble it outside of a restaurant. He did knock out a police officer in the struggle. They did not say what his intentions were. I just thought it was interesting in that it was an expensive shotgun. I do not know where the $95,000 figure came from.

Facts, what are they. Every shooting news story reports shots fired from an automatic pistol or assault rifle. 95k gun is like reporting the driver of a chevy, a 1974 Vega, is made by GM, which makes cars that sell for over 50k. There are facts and then real facts. If there was a missing 95k gun it would be in the system. For that matter contact the maker, give them the serial number and they most likely can ell you who ordered the gun and when. 95k guns tend to be made for very rich, very demanding owners. Not built for stock in large numbers.

Sounds stolen to me for sure by the looks of the guy. Like someone else said it should be fairly easy to figure out who it belongs to from Beretta.

looks like someone (cop, DA, reporter, etc) appears to have looked at the Beretta MSRP (9,500) and added a (fat-finger?) zero. The reporters downstream just passed it along without checking.

The more interesting part will be to watch if anyone in MSM corrects it. You can expect that the "Progressives", Bloomies, etc will try to find a way to use it for more opportunistic restrictions.

The suspect (see below) seems to have indulged in WAY too much stimulant. Probably went to "Moore Science High" (I think we're all Bozos on this bus...cool )

I'm pretty sure I had that guy straight across the field from me on a dove shoot last September. If I'd known he had such a cool gun, I'd have been more friendly...Geo

It's just that I picked up a used 20 bore Diamond Pigeon Berretta last week for way less than half the new price. The SO 10 EELL retails here for 72,550. I think someone in the press heard it was a Berretta shotgun and went to the highest price one. The press are notoriously inaccurate in an effort to sensationalise the news. I've only ever found two uses for a newspaper; one is to put it under the cat litter tray and the other, well, it just isn't as absorbent as it used to be. :-) Heck, he's one weird looking specimen! Lagopus.....
