I'm looking for someone to bend a stock on a Lefever nitro I have that has been restocked. I'm looking to raise the comb about 1/8". Any recommendations? Thanks.

raising the comb 3/8" is a big bend. As a rough estimate, figure that the heel needs to move in a 3:1 ratio compared to the comb. That means you need to move the heel about 1&1/8"....that is a bunch to move the heel. You may call Dennis and also ask him what other options are possible. He may be able to add some wood to the comb and hide the line so you never see it.

Mike Orlen bent one for me years ago. Did it real fast and was very reasonable.

Nitros have a stock through bolt. Might cause some bending limitations.

Sorry I miss typed. It should say 1/8" not 3/8". Not sure what I was thinking.

if everything else is good, sound wood, good grain flow, etc then you should be able to get that. If Dennis is busy I can bend it for you.

Ahh, come on Steve!! grin Give the guy a chance to ask. Yes, I bend gunstocks. Seven just in the last 7 days. Six are in the waiting period now to see if the new wood memory holds. The last one is in the bending fixture as I type. Woody402, call me and I will advise you of your options.

Hi Dennis, Happy 4th to you. So, which batch is my stock in? Just curious.

Take Care!
