I own a similar Belgian Masquelier made Charles Daly marked O/U, we would need to see the punch marks to narrow down a maker.

Hi Bob,
this looks like a standard Belgian O/U trade action dating roughly 1920s to 1970s.
I don't think it's a Browning and I don't think it's an 1892.
The proof marks will indeed bring much information.
It is however an O/U shotgun. Oh well...
Those smaller auctioneers are not to be trusted...

Those axles apparently running through the action look very much like they support internal Anson Deeley bits. That would account for the seemingly (in the photo) wide action body. It would be interesting to see inside this OU.

Francotte also made some OU's that looked like that. They have much more in common with Merkels than with Brownings.

I also remember seeing a similar O/U marked Neumann (?) that was equipped with a Miller Trigger, it makes sense that these were Trade Action.
My Daly Masqueilr has a 1936 date code stamp.

In addition to Francotte and the Masquelier-made Dalys, Stoeger also imported their "Zephyr" OU's which also looked very similar. (May have been Masquelier-made also.) And A&F imported an OU that also looked similar. I don't know how many of those were still being imported after WWII, but the Continental Arms guns, which I think were made by Fabriques d'Armes Unies de Liege, were being imported at least into the 1960's.

So I looked at it. It is a relatively clean Belgian o/u solid rib, no external serial number, 100% engraved with some honest wear. Clean bores. I'd guess a no-name guild gun. Think I'd probably be in to around $500. What do you think?
