Hello,
Can anyone help me with any information on my gun? It's a side by side 10 bore hammer gun with 41.5" barrels and has TRIEBEL ALTONA stamped on top of the barrels. I cannot find any record of TRiebel, but have found that Altona is a district in Hamburg, Germany.
Thanks Mark

I know of many Triebel mechanics but one in Altona escapes me. Possibly a satellite retail outlet for anoher Trieble. Images of the frame & touchmarks might net you some info.
Cheers,

Is that the original hammer? looks like a home made one using an old tap welded to a strap. Pretty cool Jones underlever back action. or more like a non-rebounding back action tap action?

It's a Lefeaucheux action. Jones improved it.

The hammers are some sort of home made repair and will shortly be replaced with something more original looking. The action is being tightened as well. Looking forward to shooting it soon!

There is a brass plaque on the stock that reads "Repaired but not guaranteed by Barnes, El Ballah AD 1954.
So it seems that it has done some travelling during it's lifetime.

So it spent some time in Egypt? I guess that hammer might have an Egyptian origin? Any chance for images of any marks of the components once the receiver is divorced from the tubeset?
