Earlier in the week people were posting on the subject of British vintagers club, some members saying that people traveling with high value guns are likely to be targeted by criminals. Honestly i thought this was pretty paranoid and superstitious, and refrained from posting; the events described in the above video taught me my own ignorance that organised criminal gangs can and will target people as we have seen.

I think most people have experienced burglary in some form or another and quite aside from any personal items they may take the real crime is the psychological damage people experience due to the sanctuary of your own home being destroyed.

I hope the police investigation in the above case finds the guilty party and that justice is served.

A shame to hear that. Just goes to show that there are scum all over the world that don't want a real job.

All home stored guns must be in Home Office approved metal storage cabinets with five leaver locks. But to put things in proportion if some armed low life threatened myself or family I would hand over the keys instantly. It is my belief that guns stolen from privet homes is not newsworthy these days and it is only because Digweed is a known celebrity that we know about it.

look at it from the bad guy's view- which is easier, try to find locked up valuables on your own- or force the homeowner to hand them over

I seen the video yesterday, and was shocked. George appears (understandably) very shaken and not his usual confident self. It is a truly shocking crime and hopefully the pondlife that committed this outrage will be caught promptly.

I understand that Burglary is far more prevalent in Britain than in the U.S. and also street robbery. Something about there being less chance of the victim having easy access to deadly force seems to embolden them. Remember a criminal chooses that career path as it is an easier way to earn a living than doing a honest day's work. Lagopus.....

I am very nearly speechless. Between the keys to my safe and the safe in my home, are several loaded firearms, all within easy reach of me. If I am awake, I am armed.

Even if this wasn't the case, it would be over my dead body that someone got to them.

If you make it easy for them, they will be back. I have never been burglerized, that I am aware of.

Let me state I don't think this is a reflection of you. But, it does not bode well for free men when they are prevented from lawfully protecting themselves, or, their families.
