I keep seeing this term, but can't seem to find anyone that can explain or give me an accurate definition of chopper lump barrel.

A barrel forging with an integral projection which will become half of lumps or lugs of a doubleshotgun. Single barreled gun; the projection would comprise the entire lump. So named for resemblance to a chopper of something--can't remember what. Think Tomahawk.
