Got sn oppertunity to buy a like new Garbi 101, 28 gauge with 29" barrels.
Fairly nice wood. Guy wants about $6500 for it, is that unreasonable?

When one considers the list price of a new 28-ga. Garbi 101 w/29" bbls. is north of $16K, $6500 sounds like a reasonable price to my ears.

garbi brand guns carry "the spanish curse" and as such are hard to sell...this could be a better choice...

Looking down the list of Armas Garbi shotguns I noticed that their weight is all over the place. Noted a 6 pound 28 gauge and a 6 1/2 pound 12 gauge just to list a few examples.

Across the board beautiful guns but they look all individually built to the original owners specifications. Possibly, "I can't effectively swing or shoot any shotgun under six pounds so make this 28 gauge heavy?"

I traded a original heavy proof W.C.Scott boxlock for this 3" chambered/ 1200 bares / 30" barreled Garbi I use for waterfowl and wild SD roosters( full/full). I'm sure it was a special built gun that did not have a broad appeal- but was just what I was looking for to replace a heavy/long barreled Prussian Sauer I traded to Tony G. I love it and I think the quality/ fit/ finish is outstanding.

Hi, I think the asking price for that 101 is a good deal. I have a Model 100 and it's a very good quality gun. Excellent fit and finish. Handling is superb. Very hard to go wrong with a Garbi.

I'd seriously consider it. JMO

Good Luck!!!!

Greg
