Anybody know of interesting gun shops in Edinburgh? I've been to Scotland several times, but never to the Capitol. Spending three days there in August and thought it might be interesting to hit some shops. I'm sure there must be some good ones, just looking for suggestions.

The obvious is John Dickson, but then I expect you know that. Edinburgh is a lovely city, but I haven't visited other gun shops. Another interesting visit at Leith (3 miles away) is the Royal Yacht Britannia, which you can visit and see round.

While I will be in town on the 12th, driven grouse are beyond my means. I've managed to shoot driven pheasant, duck, and woodcock on previous trips though. So I don't feel too badly about missing out on the grouse.

The nice man at John Dickson can steer you to a few good small shops...One of them however also had Kilts and Fabrics...My wife spent the bankroll in there..Also neat place up in Inverness...The name will come to me...

I've also heard good things about him. However, Dumbarton is some distance from Edinburgh.

Destry wish I was going with you. If possible try to arrange your stay so that you are there on a Sunday morning to watch the "Lads" pipe to church. It is a wonderful sight.
