Sorry to report that Rick Hemingway announced today that because of extensive damage to the club caused by Hurricane Matthew, he's having to cancel this year's Fall Southern Side by Side. He posted some photos, and it's easy to see why this would be necessary. Hoping the repairs go quickly for him and for all affected by the storm.

The Exxon across from the entrance is devastated. Lots of trees down and lots of water expected for the next week +. Rivers in the midlands are way out of their banks and it has to go somewhere. As well, he has no electricity.

Those of us on Deep River's list received an e-mail informing us of the cancellation. It's also listed on Back Wood's facebook page.
Here's the facebook announcement:
"We will reopen on Wednesday, October 12. There is still debris that will need to be removed so bear with us as we work thru it. Rifle range is still closed until further notice due to flooding. Due to the damage of the surrounding areas of Georgetown and loss of power, we will be unable to host the 2016 Southern Side by Side Fall Classic & Exhibition. We apologize for any inconvenience."
