Just wondering, has anyone had any hunts and success this upland season. Posted here because I think a lot of grouse and woodcock hunters use sxs.

I go every day.
I'm training a new dog, so no shooting without perfect bird work.
I hunted along LK Superior last week. Good numbers.
This week Gladwin/Arenac counties, next week Montmorency.
It's very dry, so they are pretty easy to find.
Out there doing it best I can.

I went to the UP in Michigan around Iron Mountain and explored the GEMS (enhanced grouse management sites) along with other areas, and found good grouse numbers. Not many woodcock in the western UP, but good numbers downstate. I live for this time of year! SXS's? Of course!

"Fall" weather delayed here in the NW Lower, Big Time. Everything still green and thick, hot weather, no killing frost here yet, color change way behind. Leaf Peepers are disappointed.  Bird pops (both) a bit better than last season.
