Finally, it looks like someone may be making them. I messaged him and told him how to tell the difference, don't buy until he confirms the model.

I prefer wood to plastic, leather to nylon, waxed cotton to Gore-Tex, and split bamboo to graphite.

I lucked out and both my Remingtons have buttplates in good condition.

I have a New Model Ithica hammer double made in1899 that has a funky homemade buttplate. I can't seem to locate a repro buttplate with the right dimensions.

Try Connecticut Shotgun. They sell them for most American made guns.
