Sirs,
I have a nice wood English rifle case that is missing the lock. It is otherwise in good shape. Do any of the members have a source that I could buy a new lock from?
Thanks for your help.

I am in the process of converting music cases to gun cases and had to source locking latches. The best source I found is Lee Valley Tools in Canada.

You should be able to contact gun case makers here. FEI gun cases makes English style cases using identical English style locks. I'm sure there are others that would sell you a lock.

Like long guitar cases and such??? Your venture tells me that these cases must be quite reasonable. Do you have any photos of work already accomplished?? Thanks for posting.

Give John Bugden a call in Murray, KY - he can probably fix you up with one.

Working on before and after pics. I just need the felt to finish the first one that I'd like to display. I refurnished a few existing gun cases and made a few with music cases as a trial. My problem is finding a case that is not too oversized to start. And now sourcing the felt. Pool table felt doesn't work

I have envisioned such cases and have 3 vintage violin/voila cases that have been sitting in the barn. I think I may be collecting retirement projects too early!
