I'd be interested in hearing recommendations of folks for photo hosting sites that they find useful for posting photographs to this forum since direct image attachments aren't an option. I'd be willing to put up with ads for free service since I don't use such sites a lot. thanks Jeremy

Here's quick instructions.
To upload pictures.
Have the BBS thread open with the box you'd like to put the pic into, such as a "Reply" or "Quick Reply" box.
Open another window. Search for "JPGBOX". The screen will change. Click on "jpgbox submit an image". The screen will change again. Then, click on "choose file", the screen will switch to your photo library. Click on the pic you want to upload.
The screen will change back, the pic address will show where the "choose file" box was. At the bottom, click "upload photo", the screen will change and your pic will appear. Now, I always go to the picture sizes and click on the largest size. The screen will change again.
To post your pic, go to the box labeled " for forums" and copy and paste this info right into the BBS box you have open in the other window. That's it. _________________________

I prefer wood to plastic, leather to nylon, waxed cotton to Gore-Tex, and split bamboo to graphite.

JPGBOX seems to work but is pretty slow. I've used Dropbox for a few years now, you'll get 5Gb storage for free, I've yet to use a GB. You'll get a Dropbox folder on your home computer, put your pics or any file type in the PUBLIC folder and then you can click on them to copy the link, pretty fast and painless. Basically Cloud Storage. Here's a link and disclaimer... when others use the service you get more free storage. DROPBOX

I still use photo bucket. I don't seem to have all the problems others have with it. I can pop over to it and post a pic in a minute or two. I might have learned something that bypasses a lot of the advertising issues others talk about. As soon as the site comes up I click on "LIBRARY" as soon as possible. My library of pics comes up almost instantly. If you dawdle around it seems like it gives ads a chance to "get a toehold" and start popping up all over the page, and that just bogs the whole thing down.
I just tried it for speed and from start to finish, copying a pic to post here, was under one minute. Guess I'll stick with it for now.

Since paying the $10 per year to photobucket, I got an increase in storage and no ads. I don't have the issues I once had and there were plenty. I also use hunt101, but photobucket is my preference. It is easier to use with a mouse than an Ipad (for me). Copying the photo for use in a forum can be a hassle. I don't know if it is an inherent issue with all Ipads or just this one. Gil

I use PictureTrail. Works fine, costs nothing, no ads. There's definitely a space limitation until you pay, but if yer just using it to share some stuff you share and not storing your entire collection of "gun porn," it works just fine.

In my mind a problem with photobucket is that when you click on a photo in a post you are tak n to the photobucket website. I prefer clicking on the photo that opens up a larger image that you can then zoom in on. My guess is that this occurs when the jpg is embedded . Kirk

Just a quick thanks to those who provided input on this thread. I'll look into the suggested options. Jeremy
