I have owned a RBL 16 for a couple years that I finally had a chance to run through its paces today on clays. It helps that Herters is offering an economical target shell at Cabelas!

It pointed fantastically for me, particularly since I'm left handed and don't often have this experience with a factory stock. Most the targets, if they didn't break with the first trigger, broke with the second. The ejectors were well timed.

Question, because I've never looked into it. Does anybody know how many RBLs CSMC built in 16 ga.? I assume they built many more in 20 ga., and maybe even 12 ga.?

Only Tony knows and he isn't saying. But, I'd bet that JR is way wrong. Lou did tell me that they only built 80 of the RBL-410s. I've got them all, and I shoot the 16-gauge far more then any of the others. I didn't like the heavy RBL-12 when I got it and Lou put me into one of the lighter RBL-12s built on the same frame as the 16-gauge. I do think the small gauges have much nicer looking stocks --



then the "standard" 12- and 16-gauges --



but the RBL-16 sure seems to fit me and I do well with it. Lower gun is the heavy RBL-12 that went back to Lou.

I think more than 100 in 16 Ga. also. The 28 is probably more than the 16 and 12 combined with the launch edition 20 the most produced. Judging this by the general feed back from when these were being actively marketed and produced. As I looked last you could still get one made for you in some models/gauges.

I have a 16 Ga, it's a very good gun that I shoot often and well as compared to others I have, it fits! Mine has a stock more inline with Researcher's small gauge guns. No pad system perhaps?

Looking at the RBLs, the listed weight for 16s tends to be on the heavier side of the spectrum for 16s. Anyone compare the handling of a RBL to a similar weight gun, perhaps a Win Model 21?

My RBL 16 is 6.4 lbs. with 29 inch barrels, and balances right at the hinge pin.
My 28 inch barreled Win 21 DT 16 is 6.7 lbs., and balances almost an inch behind the hinge pin, even loaded.

Identical stock LOP. To me they feel very similar between the hands, but the RBL has IC/M chokes vs. M/F in the Win 21. This may be why I'm breaking more clays with it.
