I broke the rear sight on my ruger no.1, drifting it off to fit a scope. I now want to use it with open sights. Are all the ruger sights the same ? Would one from a 10/22 fit ?

When your eyes reach a certain age that question will no longer be pertinent. Open sights go with young eyes; old eyes require scope sights. Its worth trying the 10/22 rear site...Geo

Somewhere or other a few says ago I saw a Ruger No.1 with an aperture sight and it looked a pretty neat looking job and I find as old as I am that I can shoot ok out to a hundred metres with an aperture sight which I have on one of my little Martini's in 357Mag.
Much better sight picture, a lot also depends on the front sight which I changed to a finer blade.

OK, I see you are in Dublin
I checked my #1 in 38-55, my #3 in 30-40 Krag, and my 10-22 Deluxe
AND they all appear to be the same

I do not think Gun Parts ships overseas???

That's been my one complaint on the Ruger #1. The rear sight, and it's location. I wish they could come up with a sight that sits closer to my eye, and not so far forward!

The farther forward it sits, the easier it is for old eyes to use.

My 67 year old eyes like tang sights or peep sights that sit closer.
