Just to be clear, ferry departs from Portland, ME. I know where I'm going, I just can't type properly. Lol.
I have been to both Portsmouth NH and Portland ME is the past and will be visiting both on this trip.

A clarification...last time I was in Portsmith, NH there was a ferry that went to Nova Scotia on a regular schedule that was called (if I remember correctly), the Scotia Prince. That was a few years ago now, so maybe things have changed.

That was a few years ago now, so maybe things have changed. Lloyd, I took that ferry, from Portland ME to NS in the late 1990's. Was an overnight trip. Departed around 9:00 pm and arrived in NS about 6:30 am. My wife and I had a cabin. That service went down at some point as was recently replaced by a new, much faster boat. 5 hour trip departing at 8:30 am. This new service ( 4-5 years old I think) also sails out of Portland ME.

LL Bean's pre-owned guns are overpriced in my opinion.

I believe that they're running the CAT on that run now. Back in 2000 my wife and I took the CAT from Bar Harbor to Yarmouth - it was a funny feeling sitting in the passenger area running at about 55 mph with my pickup truck down on the vehicle deck.
The CAT is fast and smooth.

There has NEVER been a ferry running from Portsmouth,NH to Nova Scotia. It leaves and returns to Portland, ME.
I have lived 5 miles from Portsmouth for the last 50 years, and have a pretty good idea what happens there.
