I hope this hasn't been answered before (got tired of searching the archive)... I have a 12ga. N.S., mfg. 1937, that has the "shoulders" on the frame like the Ithaca NID. I realize this isn't "rare" (there are 3 for sale on G.I. now). Curiously, two of the 3 were also made in 1937.
Is there some sort of manufacturing reason for this ? And, did this only occur in 1937 ?
I've been reading and learning from ya'll for a couple of years now, and am really thankful for your knowledge, and that there's a forum like this.
Thanks in advance for any info you can give me.
