This is from about 2007 Gamebore Traditional Game 16g 28gm (1 oz.) was reported to run 1260 fps at 8122 psi but pressure testing by Tom Armbrust showed it to be 8400 psi. I thought the recoil was sharper than the Federal 1 oz. Game Load.

I got a few boxes of the 12 gauge 1 oz stuff, years ago. I found the recoil to be quite sharp and after firing, the case were no shorter than a 2 3/4" Win AA case though they were marked 67 mm I believe. I bought them from New England Arms as that was what he recommended for a 2 1/2" chambered Brit gun. I made much more suitable low pressure reloads with 2 3/4" Win AA cases with IMR data. even factory light trap loads (2 3/4 dr eq. 1 1/8 oz shot) kicked less than those gamebores.

I've still got about a flat's worth of 1 ounce 16's left. Had 12 gauge 1 ounce in the past. For both, and like other posters, I have found recoil to be a bit sharper than expected given the loads. I became a little selective about which gun I will use them in....only ones that have had the stocks refinished and glass bedded and I only use them actually hunting now.
Much prefer the RST offerings, now that I can get them in Canada.
I've run a bunch of them through a Fox 16 that is in good condition. Handled it with ease. I just didn't like the recoil for the load.

James, who's selling in Canada, please? King, it's Prophet River from Alberta. They will ship as little as a box (if it's a stocking item) or they will special order for you as long as you order a minimum of a flat. The pricing is very good....basically take US price list and do the exchange. HOWEVER, it all has to ship from Alberta. That means it starts in Pennsylvania, goes to Alberta and then heads out across Canada to the customer. A case to me is around $40. Will be more for you. And shotshells aren't light. http://store.prophetriver.com/

I bought a pallet of the VIP Eley 2 1/2 16 gauge loads, back when you could get them, still have some left, maybe 2 flats. The recoil is sharp. I understand that doesn't give much information about pressure, but, the boxes carry a CIP stamp of aproval. I just used them for hunting. 100 rounds at the range in an afternoon would suck.
Best, Ted

Best, Ted Thats my plan. To buy a few flats use them for hunting grouse and bunnies. Then I have empties to load. I have a nice low pressure load I shooting for skeet.
