Hi

Question. Is there an easy way to remove the nut that is pressed into the wood of a Beretta 686 forend? I am replacing the wood on mine with a set from Cole that was a take-off of a 687 Silver Pigeon. I was thinking of putting a spare metric screw in from the bottom and tapping it out.

Does anyone have a better idea?

Can you tell me the diameter of that nut? Also the length of the screw? and thread size if you know? Thanks.

Nut is approx 7.5mm
I dont have the screw out but they were about 10-15mm long
The screw is approx 4.5mm in diameter
Not sure on thread pitch but its metric fine thread if that helps.

The nut is serrated and pressed into the wood. Its removable for sure, Im just not sure the least destructive way.

Try threading the screw in from the bottom a few threads and then taping it with a brs rod and hammer. The nut is tapered so once it starts it gets easyer to move in a hurry.
