how much do you think this one will sell for? it seems like the NID's are getting harder to find.

The buy it now is about a $100.00 over the market value for a gun in that general condition. If you want that gun set your bid ceiling in the 425-450 range. Now if it was a Fox or Smith or even a Parker the gun would be twice that amount. Ithacas are the Rodeny Dangerfield of shotguns. They get no respect. Shoot nice though.

Ithacaman, hopefully you are the seller trying to stir up a little interest in your gun. If not, you provided a direct link to several potential new bidders against you. I have not been on here too long myself but I believe when it comes to general questions of value or technical questions I among friends. When it comes to open auctions you are swimming with sharks :-)

Most of the sharks here are not big buyers of Ithaca NIDs. That is why the prices are so low. Now if it were a 20 gauge you tread here at your own risk as many here will willing buy a 20 even in a NID. A 28 or graded gun would get you even more interest.

Final bid was $396.00. Hard to believe that this is the fair market value for a NID shooter. Seems more like a fair price for a Nitro Special. But this is about what I have seen them selling for around in my travels.

Looks like a heck of a buy to me. Not long ago, I sold a 16ga NID to one of the "chain" gun stores for $850. 12's will certainly go for less than 16's, but that one went at a bargain price in my book.

The reason you don't see a lot of NID's around is pretty simple: there weren't that many, comparatively speaking. Only about 45,000 total, more than Parker Trojans, but far fewer than Fox Sterlingworths (over 150,000 of those).

I think people can get more for their guns if they just take better pictures. These were a little out of focus with harsh lighting, inconsistent exposures, and a really unflattering background. It increases the uncertainty factor for buyers resulting in low ball bids.
