I picked this Antonio Zoli 12ga x .222 rem mag over and under yesterday. I don't know much about the Zoli brand but it looks and feels pretty well built. The code date "XXX" means 1974 I beleive. It has a Redfield 1 3/4 x 5 scope mounted on top. Here are a few pics.

What a dandy combo gun that is. You don't see many Italian combo guns with case colour on the receiver, most are coin finished. That is the first 222 Rem Mag I've seen also. Usually they are 222 Rem, 5.6x50R Mag or 22 Sav. Highpower(5.6x52R).

It is a real plus that it has the rings it has, as it will be much easier to swap in a more modern straight tube scope in the future and the scope is mounted very low. With some practice you can shoot flying game with it set on the lowest power although it is a little easier with a true 1x on the bottom end. Both mine have 1-4x20mm Leupolds on them but I've used Nikon 1.5-4x20mm and Weaver 1-3x20mm(nice little scope for a combo gun if you can find one that doesn't have fish eye on the lowest setting)

I will say they make one of the best coyote calling rigs for close cover, specially with the scope mounted. 1 3/4x for the "to your shoelaces stuff" and 5x will get you too 300 yards with ease for that rascally guy that hangs up on the far knoll. I have two that I regularly use, a 12ga/22 Sav Highpower(BRNO) and a 12ga/5.6x50R Mag(Bernardelli). I sold a American Arms(Marrochi made) 12ga/222 Rem to a turkey hunter and he kills about 6 coyotes for every turkey he gets when the coyotes come into hi turkey calling.

Hope you have as much fun hunting with it as I do with mine.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

I was thinking varmint gun when I saw it listed. The auction had it marked as a .222 not a .222 mag. The case coloring is really eye catching. Thanks for the replies

If you load the 222 Mag. with 60 grain Partition bullets at top velocity it should make a decent deer rifle. The partition bullet is a simi-spitzer so it is shorter than spitzer bullets and should stabilize.

I wonder if it started out as a 222 Rem Mag? With the difference in stamping depth, slight angle of Mag and the large space between Rem and Mag. The letter style looks to be the same though, factory re-chambered, or re-done before it left the factory.

Whatever, it is a very nice combo gun in a great caliber. Nosler is producing ammo and brass now.

oskar I noticed that same thing this morning. It is also marked .222 REM MAG on top of the left side of the receiver. I will look at it again this afternoon to see if it looks double stamped.

Mr. Marshall,

How's the weight on the gun? The Brno Combi I have in 12 ga x .22 Savage HP, is a bit on the heavy side at 7.5 - 8 lbs.
