Comrades,

Need some help. My bird hunting buddy lost a small chunk off the bottom of the frame, on his favorite A&N Boxlock. The damage is located just South (towards the trigger guard) of the hinge pin. Surprisingly, he tells me he never noticed that it was cracked or weakened. Any recommendations on who could repair this, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.--TOOL MAN

Post a note to Glenn Fewless. He has done a number of jobs for me (IE machined a Hepburn action and made the bbl) Everyone raves about his work.

That's a very odd place for a receiver to fail. I would be suspicious of the rest of gun. You can't rely on a structural weld repair to an action, the gun may be toast.

I just re-read this. A chunk of metal just fell off the frame near the hinge? Run, do not walk to the nearest smelting furnace. I would never be able to trust this gun again.
