Looking for recommendations for a smith in upstate NY. I'm in the Binghamton area and have a 1915 Ithaca Flues 12ga that the rib needs to be redone. Thx in advance

Not in New York, but if you go to page 2, two gunsmiths in Connecticut are mentioned in the "Mitch Schultz retires" thread. If he says that they're good, they should be. Good luck.

Turnbull is not far, by upstate standards, from Binghamton in Bloomfield, NY. Not sure if Charlie Yellets in North River is still working. Have you tried or called Giacomo or Charles in British Sporting. Both may recommend a smith. There is always Dewey V. In PA, Dan Morgan in VT, and more as the radius expands from upstate.
Good luck.

Just for curiosity's sake, what does the collective here think this repair should cost, generally speaking? JR

Both ribs , including blacking or browning, 1k+. Just the ribs, 5 to 8 hundy, maybe more these days. Hard to find someone who’s good to take on the work lately.

Unless it’s an exceptionally nice Flues or has great sentimental value, the repair cost could easily exceed the value of the gun!
