The little “nub” ( size of a pin head) has broken off the extractor pivot on the forend and a tiny nub on the receiver where the extractor pivot “ engages. ( 1880 Lindner 10 ga hammer gun) Can anyone point me in the direction of a gunsmith that could attend to these two areas via a tiny bit of TIG welding and dressing to make the extractor whole and function again. I, of course would desire to have the repair look as cohesive and original as possible. This is a gun I regularly use for duck hunting- not a safe queen, although it is in extremely good condition. A smith that has knowledge and experience with quality doubles would be a requirement. Thank you in advance, Best Regards, JBP

Laser welding might be better for something that small.

Thank you for the reply Mr.Welch, Any suggestion for who I contact for laser welding?
I am a BiG fan of your engraving by the way. Many years ago you sent me some photos of a particularly nice L.C.Smith that you had done a 100% coverage of amazing birds, dogs and exceptional scroll work- one of the nicest I’ve ever seen. Best Regards, JBP

J.B. if you drop down and click on the last forum category, then click on the first selection for posts and select all threads you can see some later shotgun engravings including L.C, Parker and M21.
If you go to acgg.org, the gunmakers guild website you might find someone in the membership that does laser welding. I had some pits laser welded some time back...I think it was Glen Fewless but do not remember for sure.

Glenn Fewless does laser welding. I have seen some of his work and it is excellent. As Sam stated above, his info is on the acgg website. FWIW, whomever you decide to do the work, it would be great to see some before and after pictures.

Anybody have current contact information for Mr. Fewless? Neither the phone # or email address I have located for him provide any response—- The ACGG website does not connect - has it been hacked, or is updating? In a quandary here….. Thanks if anyone can have Mr. Fewless email me at jpatt1@uis.edu Best Regards, JBP

Last time I talked to Glenn he had a robotic sounding call screening system installed on his phone. I think it asked for my name and reason for calling, then it rang Glenn’s phone and when he answered it told him it was me. I suspect had it been a robocaller his phone wouldn’t have rang? Kinda cool, given the number of bogus calls we get
