But the stupid 6.5% tax on ammo passed which very much annoys me. My border collie treed a juvenile mountain lion last week which startled the heck out of me.

… which will cost legal hunters and shooters $39,000,000/year.

But at least the “fur ban” and the slaughterhouse bans were defeated also.

I know there’s lots of optimism with the election outcomes that this period of insanity in America is waning and I hope that it is. But with this new targeted heavy tax here on law abiding citizens the pernicious idea that guns are somehow evil animate objects and legal gun owners their anti-social enablers who need to be punished isn’t likely going away any time soon.

We know the adage, “The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.” Not just as hunters and shooters, but as citizens, in general, we need to heed it. Our freedoms will continue to be at risk.

FallCreekFan gets it. Unfortunately, many gun owners do not. And this QUOTE below is from a Free Advertising Gun Dealer who has been on a buying spree, and even bragging about profiting handsomely from guns that are selling cheap in other countries due to the laws enacted by anti-gun politicians. You really can't fix stupid!

Sorry all of you British, Australian, and New Zealand gun owners... But your loss is the gain of some Free Tagline Advertising profiteers here. If only they would pay Dave the little $12.00 fee he requests for the results of successfully advertising the importation and/or sales of the guns you had to give up and sell at a loss.

As FallCreekFan notes, this is a punitive measure directed at law abiding gun owners who had nothing to do with gun violence. If there was rationality and Justice, we would see punitive taxes aimed at Liberal Left Prosecutors who parole and refuse to charge violent repeat offenders who go on to commit more violent crimes. And we would see punitive actions taken toward those Democrats who enabled massive increases in drug overdose deaths due to opening the Southern Border to Illegal Immigration and Drug Cartels. But it isn't about saving lives or helping victims. It's about Liberal Democrat's never ending quest to infringe upon our Constitutional 2nd Amendment Rights.

This is $39 million in NEW and ADDITIONAL taxes that Colorado Gun Owners will pay Stan. They will still pay Colorado state and local sales taxes, and the 11% Pittman Robinson Federal Excise tax on guns and ammunition. They will. also continue to pay Transfer fees for firearms. It's like death by a thousand cuts.

And remember this important fact... the Colorado residents and members here who support anti-gun Democrats would keep you from hearing any of this if they had their way. They don't just want Threads like this locked. They want them banned, and they want those who deliver the truth censored. Think about that. And thanks to Kolar for informing those here who understand guns and politics are inextricably linked... so long as there are anti-gun politicians who keep attacking us with gun bans, ammo bans, punitive taxes, registration, lawsuits, and lies.

Voting for anti-gun Democrats is dumber than giving treats to a dog that shits on a Persian Rug

Keith, Thanks for making it clear that SKGB contributes little to the board in general and nothing to Dave in particular.

If I may remark, It seems he and Brett have a weird little quid pro quo.

Brett, Noted Professor of Solecism and Canine Malnutrition shills for him on numerous threads like the street barker for a 3 card monte scam. In return, SKGB custom fabricates a Merkel stock, equal in beauty to Janet Reno, Mike Obama, Hillary Clinton or Greta Thunberg.

Would you care to show me how it should be done? I would love to see the work of an expert such as yourself. You could start by learning the difference between a Merkel and a Greener.

Brent sent me one job to do, quite enjoyable as it was a good quality gun and Brent was an ideal customer, he knew what he wanted, had reasonable expectations and was easy to work with. All you could ask for in client from my side of the bench.

Quid pro quo? Hardly, my business was built by word of mouth, through two decades of happy clients. I have far more work offered to me than I care to take on. I have a small group of clients who have me buried and all of them have more work waiting for me when I complete the guns currently in the shop. I have not advertised in years, no need.

I am eagerly awaiting photos of your work.
Steve
