What's the story behind the cavalryman's memorial marker? They’re all over the place at the battlefield… ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/xd6KnPMm/thumbnail-IMG-0232.jpg) Free to whoever wants them, eh? Isn't that the closest thing to a grave marker those Veterans ever had? Damn.
May God bless America and those who defend her.

I have a feeling this is going to go over like the proverbial fart in church.

Wow, would never, ever cross my mind to remove one of those. Straighten it perhaps but never move it.

No, really they are movie props from the movie “The Horse Whisperer” I did send that picture to one of the Park Rangers at the battlefield and he got pretty excited about it at first. The real markers are solid Marble and I doubt you could carry one under your arm…

Thank you, Shrapnel, for clearing that up. I'm sure you can see how it appeared. As it bothered me so much yesterday I looked at some of the real markers that are at The Little Bighorn battle site and saw that they are very close in form and wording to what you have. That's a neat reminder of the battle, but you must have had the need to explain it to others before now, as well.
Good hunting ..........and beautiful country.
