Mike, that is an interesting oil bottle/can. I have never seen one like that. Here's an item that maybe a few people cannot identify. ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/EsrOkgC.jpg)

The Dixon looks like an Item from the early days of game shooting. Is it an adjustable powder measure plus a touch hole blockage remover wire from the Flintlock days. The other Item soldered to the side of the tool looks as if it should not be there judging by the more sophisticated screw fitting at the other end, though if it is a shot measure you would not get much of a load in it.
The only lessons in my life I truly did learn from where the ones I paid for!

Is the little funnel on the Dixon tool intended to pour powder in through the nipple threads to deal with a stubborn misfire (or a lack of powder charge before ramming the shot)?

![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/x1osO1Y.png) Though I say it myself I guessed right. I Goggled “Dixon tool images” and was led to this article on the website of Fine Sporting Collectibles Ltd. This is part of their article on nipple primers.

![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/ZUSn99N.jpg) This coukd be an even older bottle of Rangoon Oil. Unfortunately the label has absorbed so much oil that the only words I have deciphered so far are “Rangoon Oil” , ‘ made by” and “established”. No doubt a forensic document laboratory could tell us more.
