From my perspective, more options equals better options, especially when they are coming from reputable makers. This is particularly the case where I have struggled to find a modern gun that really speaks to me. I have gone through a number of contemporary Browning O/U's (at least 2 Citoris, maybe 3, and a Cynergy) and a 686 SP, I didn't really care for any of them. The Citoris are too tall in the action, the 686 felt clunky, and the Cynergy was fine, but not the gazelle that I was expecting.

I recently shot a modern semi-auto (A400 platform) for the first time, which didn't do much for me either.

Is this the one for me? I don't know, but I am not put off by it in the least even if it seems a bit garish at a glance.

I have a couple nice OU's that I shoot well. None put a smile on my face like my Ithaca 5E, which I shoot equally well. I have no problem shooting the 5E in an open event.

It's definitely an in your face, modern styled gun. Not for everyone. I'm looking forward to trying one once they make it to the public. Would I buy one? I don't know. The styling is definitely a hurdle to get past. Might be a good option for those who want to shoot 10k rounds a year though a SxS. Will any of the turkish offerings hold up to that kind of usage, I don't know. Will my 100 year old Ithaca, also don't know (I may find out). My primary tournament OU is turkish made, it eats 10k a year without a glitch, not a cheap gun, The Dickinson is stunning if you can find one, certainly not cheap. For those that spend significantly more time shooting targets rather than game birds, I can think of worse options.

All my OU's have CCH receivers, so a little classic styling is definitely my preference. I'd really like to see a more traditional finish, maybe CG will do something interesting with the platform if it's successful.

12 ga. 32" I had an adjustable comb cut and an ISIS recoil reducer added



30" 16 and 20 gauges a few years later when John at Pacific Sporting Arms got them in



Last Fall he finally got in some 28 gauges



He just got a few more 28's in not long ago and some are listed for sale on the PSA website yet

John doesn't do a 410 but SKB does but it is only grade 2 wood and the boxlock Estate. And SKB hasn't received any in several years. They are having AKUS redo the forend to more a Winchester M21 style along with a few other things. Will be awhile before I can pick up a 410 to complete the collection for the all bore events.

No regrets in my choice. Last year came in 2nd (first place looser) at Sporting Clays at the Woods and Meadows SxS Classic in Wi. with the 20 ga. The next day thought for sure that I won the double flush SxS event with a 78x80 but only placed 5th at the end of the day when everyone was done. Tough and very capable crowd even if most of us are older now. Some younger shooters showing up which is very good to see.

Saw this side by side at the Southern Side by Side this past weekend. They were offering for anybody to shoot the gun. It's an interesting gun for sure

The stocks on those Dickinsons look a bit odd to me. But I guess they appeal to some.

Walked into a screaming deal on a 32" SKB 200HR 12ga. Less than a flat through it. With all the good reviews, I couldn't pass it up. Put a few hundred rounds through it this week, what a sweet shooting gun. Doesn't feel like 32" tubes, incredibly lively. Need to make a few fit tweaks but I don't see this one leaving the collection any time soon.

A lot of us that shoot SxS do it because we like the traditional game gun look and feel, however if we use it for a lot of clays we then have to deal with recoil from a light game gun. I don't think I am the only one that shoots 7/8 oz in 12 ga , 3/4 oz in 20 and now heaven forbid I am going down the rabbit hole shooting a 410. The first time I saw extended choke tubes on a SxS I thought how awful. Now I think if it brings more shooters away from the Dark side it has to be ok. Just so you know the Dark side is any gun that throws it's fired shells out on the ground or has ported barrels that hurt my already depleted hearing.
