I haven’t been there recently. They once were a very capable shop with a staff that was specialized. I’m hearing that isn’t the case anymore.
They were never a shop that was what you might call prompt, that didn’t bother me if the work was excellent. I believe Carol, among others, has retired, and checkering and other wood work might not be available.

It's been years, like 25+ for Ahlman's. I was at the time satisfied with the work done. You could talk to Pat Laib, Laib's Gunsmithing in Spicer, MN. He has done work on some SxS guns for me in the past and near past. He is very much still in the business.
