My Briley thin wall, steel proofed tubes are a different shade of grey than the stainless tighter chokes. I have wondered if they might be titanium. They must be 30 yrs old now, or more.

If you leave the choke tube in long enough, and fire enough rounds through it, it eventually becomes a fixed choke.

This has apparently been solved, but just for the record...
Briley can 'open up' any screw in choke you might send them. They did it for me on one of their VERY thin wall tubes without breaking a sweat. This was the kind that have the threaded area elongated because the tube is so thin and the threads so shallow. It's a square thread (Acme) and they need all the threads they can get for a Winchester Model 50 barrel. My tube was a IM, and I had it taken all the way out to cylinder. Easy for that shop. They charged me $40 at the time which was less than an extra tube.
Briley also sells chokes for what appears to be any and all factory makes and styles.
It's a machine shop that specializes in choke tubes and I just bet they could make you anything you can draw or duplicate anything you send them. Thanks SGJ. I have learned something today. I was not aware that Briley sold chokes like you say. I only thought they threaded barrels and inserted their tubes in them. Anyway, I have a couple of TruChokes on the way so I seem to be fixed now for this little pump gun. Thanks to all for the assistance and the knowledge.

Titanium is significantly less dense than steel. A blind fool could easily tell the difference. OK, nevermind... we understand your confusion.

I have tried everywhere else including Midway and Ithaca with no success so I thought I would put this out here. I am looking for a Modified and an Improved Cylinder choke tube for a 20 gauge Ithaca 37 barrel made in King Ferry. I have been told that the King Ferry chokes and the current Sandusky Ohio tubes use different threads. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. I used EAA Baikal-Remington chokes (Trulock thread) from CDNN in my 20ga King Ferry Ultrafeatherlight. They list IC, Skeet and Modified at $3.99 each.
