That is something we don't see every day... fiddleback wood and fiddleback metal.
The seller of this gun has bought and sold enough Syracuse Lefevers to know those aren't original Lefever case colors. But the only thing that may stop someone from bidding on it is the Reserve price that is way too high for an H Grade in that condition. The wood is pretty nice for an H Grade, except for that repaired stock finger. A couple other Lefevers currently listed are essentially scrap metal and firewood, hardly worth even the shipping cost.
If nothing else, it will be interesting to watch this Thread for attacks on a prominent member here, by people who also complain about personal attacks.

Most of the times, the so-called Doll's Head lock-ups (named after a certain Mister Doll, I was told, not after a child's dear toy?) do not really bear and lock anyhow.
But even when keeping this in mind, it is rare to see such a *wide* gap that Colonel Hathi and his whole jungle patrol could march through it in order, trumpetting loudly...

Carcano In fairness, the gun is quite old, old enough to have been used in a near frontier setting, by people who didn’t care what it looked like, only that it worked well enough to provide for the table. The tools might have matched the farm equipment, but, been sorely lacking at the bench the hapless gun found itself on. To say it has experienced unqualified gunsmith work, would be to ignore the obvious. Best, Ted
