If I understand wood conditioner correctly, it is just a thinned finish

since I already have a couple of very light coats of red oil on the stock I think I'll cut my slacum 1:1 with turps to make a 'conditioner' version of my slacum. I'll brush a couple of coats of that into the checkering before starting the oil finish on the rest of the stock.

Hopefully by the time I've finished the rest of the gun (I'm guessing 4-6 weeks) the checkering will be plenty hardened and ready for a refresh.

Hello, for you, what is a wood conditioner??? As a conditioner I always used linseed oil, but that is the same I would use for the rest of the stock
