Hi All,
So at last weekends Maryland Arms Collectors Baltimore Show, another Manufrance Ideal followed me home. I already have two 12 Gauges a grade 2 and a grade 3. This one is a 16 Gauge Grade 4-S with 27 1/2 inch barrels. It is super light to carry (the seller thought it was a 20 gauge).
This one is sort of neat and also has issues that I probably wont address.
The issue is the stock has been patched together (very well done) to fix what I assume was the retractable sling that isn't there anymore. There are also two small areas of extra checkering at the semi-pistol grip that is more course then the really fine skipline checkering that is there and original.
The neat is it has a rifled right barrel which I understand is to throw a spreader load. Will this work for skeet or be too open?
Other than the stock issues, It is really high condition with some case hardening on the frame still there.
I need to take some pictures and then find someone to post them....
I also found an old Lyman Ideal Straightline set in 12 gauge with the extra big roll crimper that has the belt drive to turn the crimp.
