There is/was a copy of the Winchester 1897, first by Norinco and then by IAC when Norinco get sanctioned and banned from shipping guns to the US.

They became popular with the cowboy shooting community when the price of original Winchester 97's went up and could no longer be found cheaply in decent condition.

I have one that I got cheap, it's a decent enough gun for it's purpose and you won't get all upset when it picks up the scratches, dings and other cosmetic damage that comes with shooting cowboy.

I have become addicted to English hammered shotguns to the detriment of my wallet.

I get all that but, something seems deeply wrong participating in a celebration of Americana with a Chinese copy of a period pump gun.

Best,

Would you buy a shotgun made in India or S. Korea. There was a time that optics made in Japan were considered junk, " Made in Japan" was a kiss of death, now they make some of the best in the world along with SKB, Browning and winchester guns. "Made in China" is now the "Made in Japan" of the 1950s. There are some nice scopes coming out of China but who's in charge of QC is the biggest factor. Some companies are using the Philippines and S. Korea just for the origin factory with a lot of the parts coming out of China. I don't doubt that someday China will build firearms like Turkey does if there is a demand and there is a responsible entity in charge of QC they will be decent.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

My question did not center around China's capabilities to manufacture a good gun. They centered around the fact the the ChiComs are one of America's biggest enemies, and threats

There are many with their heads in the sand about that. But , I'm not one of them.

May God bless America and those who defend her.

Don't forget, GM, Ford, Toyota, Honda and probably every other auto company in the US has joint ventures with China. Even Elon Musk and his Tesla. John Deere and on and on. MAC tools even outsources some of its sockets and hand tools to China, owned by Stanley Black and Decker. Some people think that you can buy things that China doesn't have their fingers in. Not going to happen. Not any more. And the Chinese were the first to manufacture guns.

Times change, our relationship with China is at a low point at the present, at one time they were an allie and Japan, Germany, Italy and others were arch enemies. They are now allies and trading partners. I wouldn't rule out China being an allie 50 years from now. While I don't own a firearm from China, I do have working rifles and shotguns from a dozen+ countries some once our enemies. I like them all.

Hit ‘em with the reverse UNO card.

My question was in response to a fellow who had bought a Chinese gun case that he thought was the cat's meow (my opinion). I commented that he must be okay with helping fund the ChiComs, by buying Chinese goods. Then, I asked if anybody would be interested in buying a Chinese copy of a Parker, since they seemed to be enamored with the Chinese copy of an English gun case.

No one ever implied that Chinese copies of Parkers exist. The ChiComs are too successful making copies of things that will sell a bunch to mess with copying a Parker.

Harry was banned from posting on the Parker site and badmouths them constantly, yet he goes on there and reads stuff to post about here. Boys and girls, can we spell "disingenuous"?

Hello Stan, I see you are back on here looking for more guidance from the ''Good Fellows'' ! On this Site you can talk ''Freely'', and Your 1st Amendment Rights are not taken away..

P.S. If you didn't open your mouth, Nobody would have known you were the ''Fellow''. And 2nd. I never mentioned the ''Parker Site''.
