Joe: I can agree with what you say. This still leaves the question---why are the bores so much larger than what would be normal for a 16 gauge gun. The thought comes to me as I type this. The guy who measured them may have had a bad day and is all wet about the measurements. Steve Hutton can answer that, soon. When it comes down to the possibility that the barrels were back bored, I think that this is a good thing. The shot string will be shorter and the velocity of the shot will be increased. Some, me included, think of the 16 gauge as the Queen of Gauges. Back boring a 16 just makes a very good thing very much better. With a shorter string and an increased velocity, a shooter has to be dead eye Richard !!!:} Might be like shooting a bore rifle at a bird. No cripples and probably no meat !!!LOL Best, John

End of the story. The walls are .030 MEASURED BY Steve Hutton. The bores have been bored out to 14 gauge and the chokes are open in the Rt. barrel and a tad of choke in the Lt. The pattern on these barrels is very nice and they are turning a deep plum color. This is gonna make one great low pressure grouse and quail gun. Steve is doing a strip and clean on it for me. HUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM !!!! In reality, that seems reasonable to me.:} Wish I could be with you guys at Addiville. Not possible this time. Perhaps you and that Stormy guy need to form a partnership and spring for a couple boxes of shells. The gun should be ready before too long. Actually, I may have two 16 gauge guns that need to be re-trained to shoot. That old 16 gauge Winchester Brush Buster might be cleaned and ready for a shakedown soon. Sorry guys. I know it is a pump, but a very special one. Best, John

John, I guess it's a good thing(maybe not) that I just had 600.00 worth of LP RST stuff shipped in for the Rasch and the Karl(both of whom I shot at Westford sportsman club this am.) Plenty of 16's , so I'll cover Stormy, but he's gonna have to show me a secret covert or 3 LOL. Happy enough with my shooting of the 2 new guys. Given I haven't patterned nor shot them, till the start of the rounds of S/C

Yes Dave, it came in wed. Was Jonesing to use it. Tad long at 15 lop but it didn't seem to be a huge problem, and the little rasch 28 didn't do to bad on the course. I let a few get out a fair bit, and it pounded them. I'm very happy with the pair currently. Not at all bugged about dumping the merk and the simson.
Haven't seen the pic's of your new toy, thaqt email goes to work. I'm going in for a few hrs in the morning so I;ll take a look
