Gen. Eisenhower's Model 21 was shown on American Rifleman TV last night. Not a bad looking firearm given to him by the President of Coca Cola. Anyone know the specs on the gun and whether any articles have been written about it?

It is a straight gripped 20-gauge with two sets of barrels -- 26-inch WS-1 and WS-2 and 28-inch modified and full. Serial number 25,923. It was built in 1950 and given to then General Eisenhower. The gold oval in the stock reads "To a straight shooter from a friend." It has D D E in gold on the trigger guard, five gold stars on the trigger plate, and a gold quail on each side. It normally resides at the National Firearms Museum at NRA headquarters, I believe on loan from the farm at Gettysburg.

Thanks! The show didn't give much of a closeup, although they did show the gold stars. Do you recall if the forend was a beavertail?

I watched the show this morning and recorded it to tape. Not to dispute you researcher, but if I remember correctly, there is a gold inlaid wild turkey on the left side and a quail on the right side. With five stars under the receiver. Ike really used this gun quite a bit, if you noticed the chunks of wood chipped off of the BTFE. And the on the show you couldn't see all the rust on the bottom of the receiver from carrying the way some people do. But it still remains a beautiful gun. Good luck.

I looked at the two pictures and saw quail, but now I note they were both of the same side. Schwing does say a Wild Turkey on the other side.

General Omar Bradley had a 20ga. Model 21 with Five Stars on it that is almost the same as Ike's gun.

Believe it or not, lads, some years ago at a CADA Show at Pheasant Run in St. Charles, Illinois, I saw a very fancy Nitro Special that belonged, if memory serves me correctly, to Curtis Lemay. Anyone else know anything about this? Chops

The only rightious factory "enhanced" Nitro Special I've heard of was the Col. George W. Busbey gun. If the boys at Fall Creek fancied up Col. Busbey's gun when he sent it in for something, they sure would have done so for Curt LeMay.
