By luck i ran into a nice Remington 1882 SxS in 10 gauge this morning. Seems to be all original with nice bores, blueing and wood except for the buttplate (more modern soft recoil pad) but other than that its in very good+ condition. Serial number 16234. I would have got photo's but camera batteries had died when the fella brought it in.
Besides wondering how much these are worth in general, i'd also like to know how long these were made for. 1882ish-????

Lahti - I own a 1882 E. Remington in 10 Ga. also. Mine is in good shape - except some wood whittler added a butt stock from a JABC.
I have been tinkering at restocking it for quite some time, not an easy task, for me. I am very interested in learning more about 1882s. Mine in the lowest grade with fluid steel barrels - a grade 1 IIRC.
Mine's a tale that can't be told, my freedom I hold dear.

This one also has fluid steel barrels, its a big old gun for sure!
Seems to be not alot of info floating around on these...especialy manufacture date information. If you find anything let me know.

According to Semmer, 16000 Model 1882 were produced between 1882-1888 and 1883s were in the mix. I believe that the only difference is the hammers. It might be an 1883 with the high serial number.
