At the Louisville gun show. What an impressive beast. Almost got to have one or the Colt 8 gauge just to say I have one. Anyone here shot one? I suppose the weight offsets the kick.

I use mine on preserve quail. Was the Louisville gun the GH that used to be a D Grade that belongs to big George with the big price tag? Sorry, the gun with the big price tag, not George.

Bill: I had the eightbore at the Parker get together at the Tidewater. Put it on the display table with other Parker waterfowlers. Bought it for a "D" Grade sight unseen. Catalogue said it was a "D" Grade. First letter from PGCA said it was a "D". Wrote them back & told them there was a "G" on the watertable. Got a second letter saying whoops! It is a "G" afterall. Still have both letters plus the catalogue. I'll probably put in the auction at Charlton Hall. Yes, it has a BIG price tag & will not go cheap if it goes at all. No problem with the term BIG. George is fairly BIG himself!
Best Regards, George

I didn't even look at the price. I should have but I really just wanted to hold and point the chunk of iron. It had more than average engraving. It was a normal barrel length for its size, so maybe 32 or 34 in. barrels.

George, thanks for the information on the eight gauge. I have seen it for sale for awhile and would have inquired about it if we weren't separated by so many miles. Too bad I missed seeing it at the Vintagers. I had a table in the PGCA tent and am always expecting such a gun to "walk by". If we ever cross paths again, maybe we can strike a deal. Murphy

I wrote an article on a steel barreled DH 8 bore Parker. It was in the first or second year of the Double Gun Journel. The owner passed several years ago and I have no idea what happened to the gun. It was in Western PA, Bob loved big bores and had three 3.5 Parker 10's at one time. bill

And he does. I think every good double gun guy should own one and Jack is a good source. Good luck.

When I was at Puglisi's a few years ago(the one and only time) he had a Lindner 4 and 8 bore in the shop. Talk about beauties! I think they were about 24 and 17 lbs respectively.
I'm surprised he didn't boot me out of the shop from drooling all over much of his inventory.

Bill: I wish that I had met you at the Vintager's. I've seen your picture now & know what you look like. My grandaughter & I were sitting next to Charlie Price at the next table for a good bit of the time. I had the 8 gauge in the trunk but only brought the 20 gauge DHE that I had recently received from London in to try to get some info. I hope that you can make it to Charlton Hall in December. I would really like to meet you.
Best Regards, George
