Yes I know this information has been posted dozens, if not hundreds of times but I never wrote it down.

Looking to 'letter' my AE. It has a beavertail that several folks have told me had to be aftermarket due to s/n, but others who didn't know the s/n thought it looked like factory work.

Time to letter it for the final answer.

Thanks Drew.

That address is just down the road from my companies corporate office. If I had only know the last time I visited.

Uh, not sure how I would know until I got the letter. It may, it may not. No worries.

cherry bomb,

I am in no hurry whatsoever. I won't be checking my bank account daily. It is a curiosity question, not a life saving drug.

IMO, a couple of months is reasonable customer service.. I don't know Mr. Callahan but I suspect he isn't make a living off a the few $40.00 checks that come in each month.

I have owned this gun, off and on for 6-7 years (traded for something 'better' a couple of times). I have waited this long. Heck, knowing me I'll forget to mail in the request for two months.

Valuing diversity? Ugh, yes. Obviously so since I posted a differing view from your post.

You offered unsolicited advise for a question that wasn't asked. If you followed Drew's link you'll see it says 4-8 weeks. Why should I expect faster service than I am told I will get? Again, I don't know Mr. Callahan but I would be willing to bet the $40 fee that he isn't making his living off of these letters. He does it because he likes the guns and the history would be my belief.

In fact if he owns these records, he could have a huge bonfire in his backyard and say 'My evenings and weekends are chewed up doing this for folks and they still complain. Screw 'em!'

Some things require us to hurry, some don't.
